Week #3 Reflection

 Introduction

The thought that resonated with me the most this week is that nothing is worth the price of losing integrity. Integrity is priceless, and no amount of money or success is worth compromising. This idea shaped my perspective as I studied the readings and videos, reminding me that true success comes from maintaining honesty and aligning my actions with my values. Without integrity, any achievement becomes hollow, no matter how impressive it may seem.

Key Information Learned


A powerful insight came from the article Making a Living and a Life, which emphasized that “success without integrity is failure.” This taught me that integrity is the cornerstone of a meaningful career and life. The video Why Are Ethics Important? Reinforced this idea, showing how ethical decisions create trust and foster long-term relationships. The Top 10 Must-Haves for a Start-up video highlighted the importance of building core values, such as transparency and accountability, early in a business’s journey. In Risks in Business, I learned that while taking risks is essential, those risks must always align with ethical principles. Ken Zolot’s story in Action Hero inspired me to prioritize accountability and make tough moral decisions, even when they’re unpopular.

Lessons Learned


This week, I learned that integrity is not just about avoiding dishonesty—it’s about proactively doing what’s right, regardless of the cost. I also realized that aligning my actions with ethical principles builds trust and strengthens relationships. Ken Zolot’s message about accountability helped me see that leadership is about serving others, not self-promotion, which is a mindset I aim to develop further.

Lessons Not Yet Learned


Although I value integrity, I still find it challenging to uphold it in the face of peer pressure or immediate rewards. Another area for growth is learning how to embrace ethical decision-making when it feels inconvenient or risky. Lastly, I’m still figuring out how to define and implement core values in my personal and professional life to serve as a guiding framework.

By prioritizing honesty and aligning my decisions with ethical values, I can build a fulfilling and impactful career.
